Voice Therapy

The sound that is produced by the larynx or voice box is what we call voice. If the larynx is damaged or strained from vocal misuse or abuse or physiological issues, intervention is often recommended prior to medical and/or surgical procedures and following procedures.

Many voice issues are due to incorrect vocal technique; however, a physician can determine if there is a medical basis for the throat or voice difficulties. Voice Therapy occurs upon identification of the problem and can be an alternative to surgery and is often recommended by medical specialists following surgical procedures.

At the Brandon Speech & Language Clinic we work with clients who may be experiencing common voice disorders. From a referral, we will assess the quality of your voice and projecting technique and then provide recommendations and a personalized treatment plan so you can maintain a clear and healthy voice.
